Everton vs Hull City preview: Game can shape both sides short-term form
Its a used and slightly old phrase in football but I will say it. Everton vs Hull is an important one for both sides. For Everton, its a chance to silence some critics after their 2-1 loss to Spurs at the weekend. Roberto Martinez's side didn't offer the usually attacking minded philosophy, against Tottenham, that the club has been shaped around the last season and a half. I definitely want to see Everton improve on some of the reoccurring points that me and many other supporters have identified that are starting to emerge in our game (e.g. no communication when passing the ball around the defensive area). For Hull, they'll be hoping that everything swings their way and that they can leave Goodison Park with something. Hull have only won one game since the opening day of the season and they really need to start fighting for points otherwise their season will be over before it has really begun. Everton need to win because the defeat to Spurs derailed their unbeaten run in eight games and they'll need all the points they can get if they still want to be in the mix for European football coming towards the end of the season. Overall, this game will shape these two teams' short-term form in the Barclays Premier league.

Hull manager Steve Bruce

Steve Bruce's side desperately need a win, as they are fourth from bottom.
